PLACES TO PARK IN DOWNTOWN BROCKVILLE
The City of Brockville has 7 municipal parking lots for vehicle parking and 3 parking sites to accomodate boat trailer parking.  Permits are availabe at most municipal lots.  Rates are posted at the lot machines and vary according to parking lot.

Downtown Brockville also has 2 hour complimentary parking on designated streets and metered parking on the remainder of the streets at the cost of $1.00 per hour.  Parking meters only accept quarters, loonies and toonies.  A good rule of thumb is "if you see a meter, feed a meter".   If you are going to be longer than 2 hours, please use the parking lots and not the free on street parking as parking over 2 hours is subject to a $15.00 fine. Please be advised that all other streets in Brockville are subject to 1 hour parking only.

VETERAN'S PARKING
Vehicles bearing Veteran Licences Plates are entitled to free parking in all of our municipal parking lots and metered areas.  Veteran plated vehicles must adhere to all of the parking regulations including the 2 hour complimentary parking.

WINTER CONTROL - NOVEMBER 1ST TO MARCH 31ST INCLUSIVE
Parking is prohibited on City streets between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. during Winter Control months.

ANIMAL CONTROL

You are required to license your dog with the Animal Control officer on a yearly basis. Along with licensing, other major sections of our animal control by-law are

  • Poop and Scoop [you must clean up all dog excrement on City or Private Property]
  • Running at Large [All dogs must be on a leash unless on their own property]
  • Barking [Constant or persistent barking is in contravention of both our animal control by-law and our noise by-law]

On March 9, 2005, Bill 132 received Royal Assent in the Ontario Legislature.  Bill 132, 'Public Safety Related to Dogs Statute Law Amendement Act' is commonly referred to as Pittbull legislation.
